Our mission is to change the culture of youth basketball … and a major part of that are our Team Coaches! At Pro Skills Basketball, we’re proud to offer Club/AAU Teams across the nation for serious boys and girls players in grades 2-11. Our Club Teams offer comprehensive player development, certified and positive coaches, and organized parent communication. Learn more below, and tryout to become a PSB Club Team member today!
Coaching Experience
Founded in 2009 by two former Davidson Wildcat and overseas pro players, Pro Skills Basketball began as a summer camp in Charlotte, NC. What started small has grown to over 200 Club Teams and 100 Camps, Clinics, and Academies throughout the US annually. In 2017, PSB was recognized by the Jr. NBA as one of the top 18 youth basketball organizations in the US and invited to join their “Flagship Network”. In 2020, PSB co-founded Team Curry in partnership with Stephen Curry, but in 2024 passed it on to another operator. In 2023, PSB had over 200 Club Teams in 17 US cities. Over 270 PSB alumni have gone on to play in college and beyond!
Athletics Highlights
Possess and display genuine CARE for all their players and parents as both athletes and people. Maintain the perspective that positive mentorship, leadership development and creating unity is more important than wins and losses. Practice patience, empathy, and understanding with their players, parents, coaches, and fans in a potentially emotionally charged environment. Embrace the commitment and responsibility they have to the team, the individual player, and the families of the player. Ask for help when they need it. Are confident, reliable, and clear communicators. They listen for understanding and meaning. They approach areas of concern with kindness and with firmness when necessary. Understand that young athletes need reliable role models who are invested in their progress and who praise the process. Believe that competition, in and of itself, is not negative, but instead, see it as an opportunity to teach life lessons about navigating successes and failures. Have a strong knowledge of basketball with a passion for teaching, coaching, and mentoring.

Youth basketball is often disorganized, focused solely on winning, and generally, frustrating, but at Pro Skills Basketball, we strive to provide a more professional experience for parents, players, and coaches— one focused on organized communication, fun, mutual respect, and personal growth— on and off the court.
